Lunacy

The full moon over PCH in Malibu. A little psychedelic, I know.

Let The Decadence Begin

Ah, but where to begin when you're already on overload? Let's start with artisanal chocolates: organic, raw, oh boy, you can't eat one of these bonbons in a single sitting. So you really have to split them, which makes perfect sense. Chocolate should be shared. Then there's the wall of jasmine, popping pure white and perfuming the south side of the yard, next to the bedroom window (nice touch). Next I'd like to introduce you to my forever friend, the chanterelle. The queen of fungi. Not even the white truffle can dethrone her. What a day. Feels like Spring has arrived, and our golden fig concurs (she will star in Decadence: Part Deux - sure to be a Summer blockbuster).

Super Girl

Behold the White Wonder. An often languorous creature with surprising athletic skills. A peanut thief and cuddler extraordinaire. A princess-cum-cujo when it comes to house-guarding. And the only being who rivals someone-I-know in belching skills.

Element of the Week: Barium

This week, I had a tryst with Barium. Yes friends -- intimate, fast, furious. Unforgettable in fact. I’ll bet you want details butt (did I spell that with two Ts? huh) suffice it to say that my new friend Barium raised the boring specter of a college chemistry class I took while in high school. I couldn't help but think how that snoozer of a class would've ranked memorably high with me and my fellow students had our professor handled the introduction of elements just a tad differently: "Ba, class, stands for Barium which in 30 or so years some of you may experience being shot up your hiney at high pressure while a small pack of medical people ogle, prod and x-ray you. Barium. Atomic number 56.”
