Pirate activity is on the rise south of the Marina. We had some close encounters this morning and are thankful to have made it home safely. Only regret was NOT snapping shots of the pirate volleyball players at Playa Vista. One guy was in full-blown buccaneer attire: huge captain's hat, long-tail coat, fancy leggings -- doing real nice set-ups. He was supported courtside by a bandana'd shipmate. Me? Too lazy to park the bike and walk 50 yards of sand. Anyway, L.A. beach pirates are known to be dangerous. Don't want to end up vessel-less and ditched on an isolated two-palm isle.
